Ambition: After Earning a BA degree in Animal Science and Human Biology, I hope to gain admittance into the Michigan State Medical School to pursue a MD. After that, I plan to spend two additional years in medical school to earn a specialization in cardiac surgery.
Hobbies: 4-H activities, volunteering, running, skiing, attending sporting events, drawing, reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends.

Emily Lauren Webster, Miss Southwest Michigan 2012, defines herself as a driven young woman with a passion to serve others and to inspire today's youth to use their God-given skills and talents to make a difference in the world which they live. Emily is committed to encouraging youth to get involved with the 4-H Youth Development Program and to by learn by doing. She is especially passionate about the many once-in-a-lifetime opportunities the program offers to youth across the nation.
A 2010 Graduate of Mattawan High School, Emily presently attends Michigan State University where she is a sophomore majoring in Animal Science and Human Biology. She is the daughter of Dave and Anne Webster. She has one younger brother, David.
Emily has a compelling interest in the 4-H Youth Program. Her own personal life has been impacted by her involvement in the program for the past ten years. This personal experience has inspired her to demonstrate leadership, exude confidence, and practice self-motivation in her community in her quest to inspire other to get involved. Consequently, she has become a strong advocate for the program, and has traveled all over the country promoting the youth program.
As Miss Southwest Michigan 2012, Emily will eagerly promote her platform by raising awareness or the personal benefits and extraordinary opportunities for life training that the youth program offers to young people all over the nation. She will take special interest in helping to raise funds to start more programs and to support current programs in Southwest Michigan. Her goal is to increase the number of 4-H youth participants in Southwest Michigan, and to promote the need for leadership in order to train the leaders of tomorrow.
Emily ardently believes that the Southwest Michigan Scholarship Program is a great vehicle through which she can promote her platform and become well acquainted with the Southwest Michigan community. She believes that it is through inspiring leadership and empowering others to better their lives that one connects with people and inspires them to take the initiative and get involved with their community.
Emily is looking forward to a remarkable year of Fund-rreaising, volunteering, and spreading awareness to the nation about the 4-H Youth Development Program.
